Where all the cool kids hang

Apparently all the cool kids hang on medium now.. And it makes publishing with other organisations very neat, so for now I’ll be using it as my primary way if publishing:

Blurring, Banding and Browsers

This week we spent spiking a new feature! Always very exciting. Would love to tell you what it is, but this is not the time nor the place. If you want to know, apparently I get more talkative after a beer.

Synology Backups and a Power Cut

I ordered a Raspberry Pi 3 the other day and it arrived today yay! When I got home I obviously was very keen to plug it in and give it a go, so I unplugged a plug, and thought.. Oh crap

Windows 10 on phones, Sprites and Mysterious Lines

Sprites, loved by many, despised by a few. The concept of combingin multiple images into one file is certainly not an invention of the Web 2.0 or CSS 3; it’s been around since at least the 70’s if we believe the above Wikipedia page.

Nik is back blogging!

Well. I’ve had a blog, it was German. I tried to tell people how it was growing up at Boarding School in England, but apparently boarding school in England is very time-consuming, so I didn’t have much time to tell others.. Anyway, I know work in London, Software Engineering, WebOps and all that jazz for a great corporation. (No, really, we get free coffee!)

iOS 5, Safari and squished SVGs

Today I’ve been told we have a bug on the site. Nooo! Well, what was the bug? Some of our new shiny new SVG logos appear squished in Safari on an iPad 2 with iOS 5.
